"The Surface of the Upground Axis in Oak Trees"
Institute of Forest Science of RAS
The surface of stem, branches and twigs take a special role in the tree life controlling gaseous exchange, water and sugar transport, which goes along the thing cambium zone. So the square of stems and crowns without bark is one of the main ecological characters of a tree stand. We have described the square of stems and crowns in the oak trees as a function of tree DBH and state of the tree in a stand. We give the tables of the surface distribution in tree axis of different diameter. This create an opportunity of correction of some eco -physiology parameters, especially CO2 exchange of a tree, which is strongly depended on the axis diameter.
Key words: Quercus robur, surface of the upground axis, dendrometry, tree plant ecophisiology
